From lab to $527m exit: NaturalMotion

width=383 height=245 /></div> <h4 class=date>6th November 2014</h4> <p class=large>Isis Innovation and the Saïd Business School are delighted to welcome Torsten Reil, CEO and Founder of Isis Innovation spin-out NaturalMotion, to the Saïd Business School on Friday, 21 November.</p> <p>Torsten founded NaturalMotion, a leading games and technology company based in Oxford, London and San Francisco. The company develops and publishes high-end, free to play social mobile games for iOS and Android and with over 30 million downloads and counting, is one of the fastest growing publishers on these platforms. Last week, Global University Venturing awarded NaturalMotion, Exit of the Year 2014 after it was acquired by Zynga for $527m.</p> <p>NaturalMotion began as a project in the Zoology Department at the University of Oxford in 2001. Working with Isis Innovation, Torsten developed a business plan and secured first-round investors. Earlier this year, that cycle was completed with a return to the seed funds managed by Isis Innovation that will help launch the next generation of spin-outs from Oxford.
